Broadway, New York City (September 3-11, 2012)

We flew out to New York City with tickets to two shows, Once and Nice Work-If You Can Get It. Both had won several Tony Awards. We took advantage of the TKTS Booth in NYC to pick up tickets to several other shows, including: Porgy and Bess, The Best Man, and Newsies.  In addition to these great shows, our dear friend Ariel treated us to an off Broadway performance of Tribes.

U.S. Open, New York City (September 3-11, 2012)

We got some awesome tickets to the U.S. Open... a life long dream of Carolyn's!  We were able to watch several matches and take in the energy and excitement at the Billy Jean King National Tennis Center and the thousands of fans.

This year, New York was all about the U.S. Open and Broadway baby!!

Nampa, Idaho (September 1, 2012)

We drove up to Nampa Idaho to spend the weekend with the Joelynne and her boys.  We got lost in the cornfields and couldn’t find our hotel. When we finally arrived, Lynn and Rosella invited us to their hotel for a visit, even though it was midnight!  We spent the next day shopping and getting ready for a big family BBQ.  It was a day to honor Jake’s last week at home before he went to the Naval Boot Camp.
