We signed up to ride in the Bear Lake Monster ride having heard it was a beautiful ride! We were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the night before the ride, we went to a barbeque at the Residence Inn with the School-to-Work Buddies and Carolyn played in a very competitive game of basketball… she completely wrecked her knees and got a blister on her foot the size of a golf ball!
Riding was out, but we went up anyway to support Mike and Annette. We also already had a hotel reservation, and Bear Lake is always a nice place to visit. We drove up to Montpelier, Idaho and checked into the hotel. The only word to describe our room is GROSS. We bailed, at dinner in town and then went over to the Garden City KOA and rented a cute, little cabin.

The next morning, we drove back over to Montpelier to see Mike and Annette off. It was absolutely a beautiful place to be riding and we were a little sad we weren’t on our bikes. We took lots of photos and then drove up the Minnetonka Cave Canyon road… what a climb!! We waited for Mike and Annette to make it to where we were, took lots of photos, and then cheered them on as they headed to the top of the gigantic mountain. We were so proud of them for making it! It was no easy climb.
